What should I know about participating in a trial?

Every clinical trial is different. Ask questions before you join to get as much information about the study as you can. Your questions could be:

  • What treatments will I receive during the trial?
  • Why do you believe these treatments may help my condition?
  • Are there greater or lesser risks and side effects with this trial than with my current treatment?
  • How long will the trial last?
  • How often will I have to come in for treatments and follow-ups?
  • What kind of aftercare will be available for me?
